Welcome!
The Holiday Hams Chapter 435 is a group of HRRVC members that gather together
for fellowship and the enjoyment of ham (amateur) radio. These enthusiasts joined
together in 1995 and chartered their group on February 23, 1996.
Ham operators (aka amateur radio operators) are people – both men and women
– who like operating radios that operate on different radio frequencies than
CB radios, Family Radio Service (FRS), AM/FM radios, or cell phones. In
order to become a ham, one must pass a test showing knowledge of how the radios
work. There are several designations that show the level of expertise.
Licensed amateur radio examiners give tests to those interested in taking the
exam to be an amateur radio operator. This can be done at the International
rally.
We usually try to have a Rendezvous before the International rally. This is
a great time to get to know the other members of the chapter before getting
caught up in all the activities of the rally. At the rally, these hams carry
their radios around the area and can report problems to the appropriate person
for resolution such as a medical emergency. Members also staff stations along
the route for the Make-a-Wish Foundation walk.
A meeting and election of officers is held annually at the International rally.
The annual dues are $5.00 per unit due July of each year. You will receive a
newsletter approximately every three months.
Contact one of the officers listed below if you are interested in joining the

The frequency for the HF net is 14.329.0 on Monday, Wednesday

Also, 146.58 is the simplex frequency used at all rallies and should be monitored
while traveling. Most rallies will hold a net at 07:30 AM local time for
attendees.
