Innumerable Caravan
Bill Hoh, a former Kentucky State Manager, passed away July 17th. We extend our sympathy to Joanne Hoh and the other members of Bill’s family.
Michigan
JoAnn Landini has resigned as Michigan State Manager. Gil Seger will continue as Assistant State Manager. We are looking for candidates to replace JoAnn.
Monaco
A press release from Monaco Corporation stated that their Indiana facilities in Elkhart, Wakarusa and Nappanee will be closed in mid September due to low demand for recreational vehicles. This action is similar to steps taken by many other companies involved with transportation to adjust to current economic conditions. Production of gas motorized models will be moved to Warsaw Indiana while diesel motorized models will be built in Coburg, Oregon. Towable models will be produced at the Warsaw, Indiana facility. The service centers at Coburg and Wildwood will continue to operate. We were told by the Monaco representative to the HRRVC board of directors there are no plans to change the level of support for the club. He indicated that Monaco appreciates the support from HRRVC members who buy Holiday Rambler products.
Recruiting
Now is a good time for chapters to intensify recruiting efforts to invite new club members and new owners to become involved with our activities and utilize their RVs. Local chapter events that don’t require driving long distances offer opportunities for enjoyable outings without large fuel bills. Many of you are creative and can plan interesting activities.
EIN Numbers
Remember to send EINs and up to date contact person information for each chapter and state council to your state managers in time to be submitted to club headquarters by August 15th.
International Rally
Marti and I look forward to seeing many of you at the rally in Goshen. We are eagerly anticipating some new experiences with the innovative activities that Larry and Nelda Hopper have planned for all of us.
Kentucky State Rally
A new activity has been added for Saturday, August 23, 2008. A group will caravan to the Kentucky Repertory Theater in Horse Cave, Kentucky, for a theater production celebrating the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial. This historical drama recounts events during Lincoln's life from his election as president to his assassination in 1865. Thursday night The Back in Time Group will lead us on a stroll down memory lane with songs from our earlier years.
Kansas State Rally
Rally coordinators Del and Jean Staab have some interesting events planned for us. The tour of Fort Riley promises to be the highlight of the rally.
Michigan State Rally
Several tours are planned including a woolen mill, the Coffee Beanery and the GM Truck Assembly Plant in Flint. The rally site is near Frankenmuth and a very large outlet mall at Birch Run.
