 HOLIDAY FAMILY OF REGION VIII.

If you are member of an HRRVC Chapter, you know the camaraderie we share with other Holiday Ramblers. If you are a brand new, proud owner of a Holiday, then you are in for the time of your life. Take a look at the various Chapter activities in Region VIII. We’re sure there’s one to fit your lifestyle.

Look at the Chapter listings, find one near you and give them a call. Maybe you’ve had a call from a Chapter, but weren’t sure ‘joining’ was for you. Why not attend one or more outings as a guest. You can even visit one or more Chapters if you wish.

You can always call/email or write me and I’ll be happy to talk about he Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club and Region VIII in particular.

I am pleased and honored that the Silver State Ramblers, chapter 428, of Las Vegas, Nevada, nominated me as a candidate for Region VIII Director. My husband, Jerry, and I have been RV’ing since 1974. In 1994 we purchased a Holiday Rambler, quickly joined HRRVC and a California chapter. We are now on our fourth Holiday Rambler and very involved. We consider Holiday Rambler friends our extended family.

In 1997, with Jerry’s retirement, we headed out to the HR Calgary Stampede Adventure, followed by the Alaska caravan. Volunteering to be part of the parking committee came natural and was part of the great experience. We have since been on the Fall Colors, Eastern Canada, and Vancouver/Western Canada caravans. We have attended several other Adventures, the Western Sunshine rallies, and most International rallies since 1997. At rallies, I help out where needed and Jerry works parking and security. I enjoy the crafts, and not only have taken classes but can be found teaching classes as well. I have a special interest in the "Quilts-n-Covers" project. Quilting is my hobby and some members have dubbed me "The Quilt Lady."

In 1991, we sold our home in California and moved to Pahrump, Nevada. After settling in Nevada we looked up the local chapter. We have been very involved with the Silver State Ramblers, and work constantly at building the Nevada membership. We talk Holiday Rambler with everyone. We are also members of Adventures West (mini caravan chapter #411) and Western pushers (chapter 500).

During the last 10 years we have attended region and state rallies. Why, because that’s where we can count on running into friends and making new ones. I now have HR friends all over the country.

My involvement with HRRVC includes chapter treasurer, NV state manager, state membership chairman, state rally coordinator, 2006 Region VIII rally coordinator, Region VIII secretary since 2000 and rally worker.

I look forward to serving the members of Region VIII as director. I plan to work with my fellow directors toward the continuation of this great organization. At the region level, improving member communication and increasing chapter membership is a high priority.
