May/June 2010

Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry. Habitat welcomes all people, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or any other differences, to build simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate shelter.

Habitat is able to make housing affordable to low-income families because:

  • Houses are sold through a no-profit mortgage.
  • Individuals, corporations, faith groups and others provide vital financial support.
  • Homeowners and volunteers build under trained supervision.
  • Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built over 350,000 houses, providing shelter for more than 1.75 million people in nearly 90 countries.

About Ramblin Builders

The Ramblin' Builders (Chapter 444) are dedicated to the support of Habitat for Humanity (HFH) through fund rising and hands-on building activities. Members of the chapter have worked on many Habitat builds throughout the USA. One of our biggest achievements has been to successfully fund and build a home in Bristol, IN in 2008. We are now raising money for funding another HFH home in the future. Our main fundraising activity is the raffle drawings at HRRVC rallies. We also receive direct contributions from HRRVC members to the Chapter 444 Building Fund.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CHAPTER 444

“IT IS A LONG ROAD FROM CONCEPTION TO COMPLETION” (Moliere)

The members of Chapter 444 and the Coblentz family can tell you just how long, 5 years. At about the same time HRRVC Chapter #444, Ramblin’ Builders, started planning and saving for the ‘build’ to coincide with the Goshen 2008 HRRVC rally, Mary Coblentz started praying for an affordable home for her and daughters Ashley and Carla.

Habitat For Humanity

One of three recognized charities supported by HRRVC members is Habitat for Humanity. Members can support Habitat for Humanity through donations, the purchase of raffle tickets at HRRVC events or the donation of items to be raffled or participating in a build. To get information about upcoming builds you can contact the Ramblin’ Builders, Chapter 444, on the HRRVC web site. Donations for the raffle table can be brought to the Habitat booth at the event. Monetary donations can be sent to:
