Quilts-N-Covers Project

Holiday Ramblers did it again! You met a cummulative goal of 11,010 Quilts-n-Covers donated by the International Rally in 2011. This year in DuQuoin, the donations went through the Poshard Foundation to thirteen charities in the Greater DuQuoin area. Donations made at the rally were 310 Quilts-n-Covers, 50 stuffed animals, 20 baby hats, 1 scarf, and 2 Holiday Rambler water bottles. Various states and club members donateed to local charities during the year to help make our yearend goal.

Case manager Anna Margrum and legal advocate Sheila Frampton, both with the The Women's Center of Carbondale, picked-up a pile of quilts and blankets from the Second Heat Building at the DuQuoin State Fairground on Friday. The Women's Center was one of several Southern Illinois agencies that received a donation from the Holiday Rambler RV Club's Quilts-n-Covers Project.

Thanks to all the members who helped meet our goal this year. Giving 1,000 Quilts-n-Covers per year will remain our goal. That means each year another l,000 abused or homeless children will get a blanket and a smile. Thanks also to everyone who has participated in this project througout the 11 years of making donations.

As a reminder, any individual, state or region that donates in the name of Holiday Rambler should let me know because these go into the totals for the organization. Also, donations of covers, animals, materials, etc., are accepted all year.

We did not make the paper during the rally in DuQuoin, but did make Sunday's news which I saw online and Holiday Ramblers were also on local television on Friday evening on ABC.

Our goal for the 2012 International Rally in Gillette, WY is 12,000!
