Yes, the evaluations that are filled out concerning the rallies are read through and notes made to give you what you want. Sometimes, I am sure you don’t think we play attention, but we really do. Tour #1 Cajun Country Swamp Tour – Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Departs March 25th 9:00-am Duration 4 hours Cost Per Person $20.00 Travel to Lake Martin by car caravan, a short trip to see one of Louisiana’s swamps. Your guide will take you on a journey in a open crawfish skiff through an area that is well known for its impressive scenic beauty and wildlife. Get up close and personal with alligators, critters, cypress trees and other wildlife that lives in this swamp. This is a primitive area and NOT a theme park. Keep in mind the boat is open with no top or restrooms. **This tour ran nine (9) times in 2008** at the same price!!! Tour #4 Crowley/Grand Opera House/Crystal Rice Departs March 25th 7:45am Duration 7 to 8 hours Cost Per Person $29.00 Car caravan to the restored City Hall located in Crowley for a guided tour of the building, the J.D. Miller Museum of his original recording studio with a short movie about Mr. Miller and the Crowley City Hall, then off to The Grand Opera House of the South! Enjoy a personal tour by the owner as she tells of all of the ghosts that live here and they are quite active on the second floor. The off to Crystal Rice Heritage Farm, where you will be treated a lunch of Shrimp Creole or Chicken & Sausage Gumbo and agricultural tour of the history of the rice industry with illustration of rice farming in a short film. Included also is the Blue Rose Museum.
Tour #5 Mouton/Kelly’s Landing Departs March 26th 9:30am Duration 5 to 6 hours Cost Per Person $23.00 Car Caravan for a short drive to Mouton Accordions for a very instructive guide of the making of accordions. He is one of the very few independent makers of these fine musical instruments and he will take you from “scratch to the finished product step by step”. He as wonderful stories and some music to play while you have coffee and refreshments – nothing but Fun, Fun, Fun!! Then off to Kelly’s Landing where you meet Mr. Kelly and he will explain the Crawfish and Rice Harvesting techniques, eat lunch with all of the “stuff” and then hear he speak about his John Deere collection, one of the largest in the United States. He is one fascinating southern gentleman!
