Donations for Habitat-for-Humanity

The purpose of this message is to request your support for the Habitat for Humanity raffle table at the HRRVC International Rally in May 2013. The raffle of donated items raises funds which will be used to build affordable housing for deserving families. In 2008, enough funds had been collected through HRRVC donations to completely fund a Habitat house constructed in Richmond, IN. We are well on our way toward funding a second Habitat home and your raffle donations for the International Rally will greatly help.

Habitat for Humanity is one of the charities supported by HRRVC. Chapter 444, the Ramblin' Builders, is a special interest chapter dedicated to building Habitat for Humanity homes, and was instrumental in the construction of the Richmond, IN home.

Please consider donating gift baskets, hand-made craft items, gift cards, etc. for the raffle, to continue HRRVC's history of supporting this worthy charity. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Paul Miller
President, HRRVC Chapter 444, Ramblin' Builders

Registering Guidelines ...

...For 2013 International Rally

The 2013 International Rally is scheduled for May 16-20, with departure on May 21 and early parking May 13-15. This rally will be held following the Chapter 419 Maintenance Session (MS) and we will be offering special pricing for camping between the two events. If you want to camp at the Elkhart 4H Fairgrounds where both events are being held, the special pricing will be $156.00 or seven days of parking for the price of six from May 9-15. In order to take advantage of this special pricing you will have to register no later than March 1, 2013. In addition to this special pricing there will be many tours and special meals available for you to take advantage of. The tours and special meals will be announced as soon as they are finalized.

Similar to parking for the 419 MS, parking areas will be assigned based on the date of your registration for the International Rally. The earlier you register the greater potential you will have for being parked in a better parking area. If you are attending the 419 MS and want to remain parked in the same site, you will need to register for the International Rally early because the International Rally parking is being assigned based on date of registration for the International Rally.

Clarification of Parking Policy for the 2013 International Rally

Individual Parking
Parking sites for the International Rally will be assigned based on the date of the registration. When you register, a site will be assigned and upon arrival you will be taken to your assigned site. Parking is further complicated by the fact that those attending the Chapter 419 Maintenance Session and staying on for the International do not want to relocate and, in fact, doing so would create a massive traffic problem. Therefore we have had to modify the procedure for assigning sites to work around those remaining in their sites for both. Even so, if someone attends the Maintenance Session and wishes to stay in the same site, they must register early for the International or face having to relocate.

Group Parking
The group parking policy has not been changed for 2013, if a group of members wish to park together they must arrive together to do so. As in the past, we are not able to hold an extra site(s) for someone arriving at a different time. However, as stated on the registration form, the parking area will be assigned according to the date the registration is received. That means if a group wishes to park together and wants the benefit of what some believe are preferential sites which are assigned in order based on the registration date, they should register early and at the same time. If each member of the group registers at a different time, they will be assigned sites in the area being assigned at that time which is likely not to be in the same area of others registering later. If a group arrives together but did not register at the same time, they still can be parked together, but in whatever area has not been assigned from the earlier registrations. (What that simply means is if one of them registered on day 1 and was assigned a site, for example, in the NW corner of the fairgrounds, they would forfeit that site and be parked with their group somewhere else on the grounds)
