Our Heritage

At the request of Headquarters Staff of HRRVC in Wakarusa, an organizational meeting was held on July 17, 1990 at the 26th International Rally in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada chaired by Ed Creamer (35369). This organizational meeting was held to seek out the possibility of forming a special Chapter whose members would include only those who had served and retired from the Armed Services of the United States and Canada. Application for Charter was then made by 68 "members" . One year later at the 27th International Rally in Sedalia, MO, after much work, the official Charter for Chapter 421 was presented to President Jack Shafer (12244). In attendance were 115 members and spouses along with Bob King (55519), Secretary/Treasurer and Bob Kunesh (19605), Vice President. From this beginning, our Chapter has grown to its present membership of approximately 200 members. Periodic changes in our by-laws have made our Chapter stronger, more unified and current with up to date practices. Membership: Membership is restricted to HRRVC members who are in good standing and have retired from the United States or Canadian Military. In addition, those who were discharged due to a service connected disability are also eligible. Chapter membership is open to all branches of the Armed Services: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast Guard, Active or Reserve and Widows/Widowers of eligible members. Chapter 421 does not distinguish between enlisted and officer, male or female for membership.

Purpose:

The purpose of this Chapter is to provide a social environment for its members. An Annual Business Meeting is conducted each July at the HRRVC International Rally preceded by a sit down breakfast on a pay as you go basis. In addition, Social Gatherings are held at each of the main HRRVC Rallies (Southeast Sunshine Rally, Western Sunshine Rally, Southwest Sunshine Rally, and the International Rally). Light food and non alcoholic beverages are provided by the Chapter
