HRRVC Scholarship

HRRVC Scholarship Fund

The HRRVC Scholarship Fund was established at the 1966 National Rally at Hershey, Pennsylvania. To assist the membership in getting a scholarship fund established, the Holiday Rambler Corporation in January 1967 donated a new 20-foot Travel Trailer for the purpose of selling and buying changes. In order to further stimulate growth and increase the number of scholarships, suggestions were made in 1969 to encourage the HRRVC membership to voluntarily make financial contributions to supplement the scholarship fund.

Since that time and over the years, it has been the financial and service contributions of our HRRVC membership that have kept the Scholarship Fund strong and growing.

With continued increases in higher education costs, HRRVC is proud to be able to provide up to $2000 scholarships each year to the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of our Club members as a means of reducing a portion of student’s educational costs. The funds are to be used for educational expenses, which would include only tuition, room and board and books.

HRRVC Scholarship awards are one year awards presented to qualified graduating high school students planning to attend a college, university, vocational/technical school, junior or community college. The awards are based on overall academic achievement, school and community service, and HRRVC participation. In addition, each applicant must submit a 500 word essay on a subject determined annually.

To qualify a student must:

  • Be a current academic year graduating student at an accredited academic or vocational high school
  • Have a 3.0 Grade Point Average (based on a 4.0 GPA scale), at the time of application, to be considered.
  • The applicant must be a first generation offspring, grandchild, or great grandchild by either blood, or adoption, of an active or emeritus HRRVC member. The sponsoring parent, grandparent, or great grandparent must have been a member, in good standing, of an HRRVC chapter for at least one year. Emeritus National members need not currently belong to a chapter. The sponsoring parent, grandparent, or great grandparent may sponsor no more than two applicants per year.
